exhaust butterfly servo
how are you guys handling it? i put a full exhaust on my bike and was told to leave the servo box for the exhaust butterfly as is. i know if i unplug it i get an FI light...isn't there a way to trick the ecu to thinking it is still hooked up???

Re: exhaust butterfly servo
Is there any way to remove the butterfly and then incorporate that section into your system?

Re: exhaust butterfly servo
I just took the cables off the motor and threw them away but left the motor mounted where it was. I suppose it could be moved out of the way without a problem. .

Re: exhaust butterfly servo
on the "black" plug on the ecu
top row of wires
5th wire starting from left to right
is a black wire with white tracer
cut it and seal the ends with heat shrink
then can unplug and take off servo motor off of bike
and wont throw any codes

BINGO.. thats the best way to do it... or you can get your wiring manuel and track down the wire that runs to your ecu and cut it at the brain..

if its the same as the gsxr 1000 servos just unplug the servo put an ohms meter on the servo wires and measure the resistance that the motor is drawing go to radio shack and buy a pack of resistors with in that reading and put it on the bike and you should not get an FI light.
cheap 3.00 pack of resistors
